Welcome to Yahoo! Magazine
It have been long time that I wanted to have a blog about Yahoo!, and finally it is up today. After 10 years from its launch, Yahoo! become a very powerful portal and internet business also, to become an official sponsor of the world cup 2004 one of the most popular event in the world.
What interested me more in Yahoo was their strategy, technology, choices as a big company with lot of customers and business opportunities. There is something special at Yahoo also compared to other companies is that most of the famous PHP figures work today at Yahoo and beginning by the PHP creator itself Rasmus Lerdorf, Michael Radwin, and certainly more that I don't remember all their names at this time.
Yahoo is not only a simple portal as I have already said, but a mixture of web technologies including almost all new internet technology, web solution, content publishing ...etc. Yahoo! Finance which is the most known case of Yahoo service running with PHP is still the most interesting case that the PHP evangelist use to defend the usage of PHP against other language but we are not interested into this.
What interested me more is the service, their design, strategy, the technology behind, scaling issue and everything related to a big company such Yahoo!. Well I think I have all said for this introduction, This blog is not affiliated with Yahoo and is just a collection of my thoughts, idea and news that interested me about this giant.
